Our 13 year old son has had severe scoliosis for many years which has caused pain and a lot of discomfort. We have tried several things short of surgery over the past few years to try and correct the problem without success. As a parent, the last thing I want to do is have my son go through a complicated surgery and put his health, future and even his life at risk. As the scoliosis has gotten worse we started to aggressively look for surgical options to correct the problem because it was causing issues with his lungs and stomach. We researched and met with most of the well renound surgeons in the area to gather opinions and seek advice. After all of our research we felt that Dr. Hey was the most professional and most qualified surgeon. Above all of that, we felt that he sincerely cared about us, our son and was genuinely a good man. Prior to surgery the curvature on his spine was 68 degrees off of alignment. After the surgery was complete it was determined that his case was more complicated than originally anticipated but Dr Hey was able to completely straighten his back and we believe that he will make a swift recovery.
